Mike Hadreas (aka Perfume Genius) has released his new album and it's incredible.

His fifth full-length record, titled Set My Heart on Fire Immediately, arrived today via Matador Records. And wow, it's simply riveting, from start to finish. There's such a deep confidence and strength to the record, as if it's been building for years and finally set free.

"I wanted to feel more open, more free and spiritually wild," says Hadreas of the record, which explores and subverts concepts of masculinity and traditional roles. "And I'm in a place now where those feelings are very close—but it can border on being unhinged. I wrote these songs as a way to be more patient, more considered—to pull at all these chaotic threads hovering around me and weave them in to something warm, thoughtful and comforting."

The new album was produced by Grammy winner Blake Mills, with contributions from musicians such as Jim Keltner, Pino Palladino, Matt Chamberlin and Rob Moose.
