"It's OK to feel homesick even when you're home," the Nashville-based artist sings on the glossy pop cut, which follows his recent single "Known Like This," which chronicled his sense of identity being in a new place feeling distant from his loved ones and itself was already a standout release.
The new track is a further testament of Kessler's earnestness. He wrote and produced the song himself, as he has with his other releases. But on "Even When You're Home," there's a vibe reminiscent of longtime Variance favorite Lauv, with a brand of shiny pop which sounds crisp and perfectly made for radio while still maintaining a homespun authenticity to it.
