Emerging artist Jack Larsen has a new album out this week and you don't have to wait until Friday to hear it because it's out today.
After releasing his glowing single "Vanity" earlier this month, the Chicago singer on Wednesday released his debut LP, titled Mildew, which is out via Chicago's Closed Sessions label. The new record also includes his previously released cut "Spirit."
The album, which is partly a coming of age story, drew inspiration from recent events in Larsen's life, as he was living in a 300-square-foot apartment, where he developed a strange illness which left him bedridden for months, up until early this year.
His bedridden time and experimentation with psychedelics forced him to confront many of the trials in his life, with "mildew" taking on a second meaning when he discovered mold had been spreading in his living space while he was sick.
The new music follows Larsen's 2018 debut Push-Ups EP, a standout project which was also released via Closed Sessions.
