Future Islands frontman Samuel T. Herring is releasing a new album next month.

On Thursday, he released a new song called "Down" under his old rap moniker Hemlock Ernst. It's a collaboration with Los Angeles producer Kenny Segal and a preview of Herring's upcoming album Back at the House, which is out Oct. 25 via Ruby Yacht.

Herring and Segal have teamed up a few times over the past few years, first in 2015 when Herring was featured on milo's song "Souvenir," which Segal produced.

According to Segal, he and Herring clicked when they first met, and he began sending the Future Islands singer some beats. Around 2016, Herring began recording demos on his laptop. While most of the new album was recorded last year at Segal's home studio, some of the vocals are from the original demos.
