Today is a good day if only because BANKS has released her new album.

Simply titled III, the singer's third project is out now via Harvest Records. And it finds her seemingly more confident. In fact, she co-executive produced the record alongside Bon Iver and Francis and the Lights collaborator BJ Burton.

"It's about growing up and owning your path," says BANKS of the new album. "Sometimes you can hold on so tight to a memory of something, or someone, because you’re scared of the unknown. ‘Hawaiian Mazes’ was written while I was just beginning to loosen my grip on trying to control everything. Trusting that the decisions that I’ve made have been right. Letting go is a huge theme for me."

In addition to her sold-out release party last night in Chicago, BANKS is heading out on tour this September in support of the album, which perhaps highlights the singer's ongoing status as one of pop's underrated figures.
