It's a good day because in the whirlwind of new music on this Friday is the new project from Dan Vidmar (aka Shy Girls).

His sophomore full-length, titled Bird on the Wing, arrived today via Keep Cool Projects/RCA Records. And after a handful of teaser tracks and singles, the 11-track album easily satisfies, wobbling between a diverse mix of sounds, at times embracing hushed, intimate vocals and then quickly plunging into big, jazzy grooves showcasing his versatile skillset. 

"This is not so much a departure for me but a return to the essence of my earliest work," says Vidmar, calling the new material "groovy and pulsating, even fun at times."

As we previously mentioned, Shy Girls will also be hitting the road next month in support of the record.
