It might only be February, but Ry Cuming (aka RY X) has released one of the year's best records.

His new release, titled Unfurl, is a non-stop listen of 13 perfect tracks, the followup to his equally breathtaking 2016 debut Dawn. That project included "Salt," which was among Variance's 100 Best Songs of 2016.

"I think my mission statement was simply to remain vulnerable and to capture that within this album," says Cuming of the new album. "The inspirations change each time, and I always want to allow that process to be free, to draw on new ideas and sounds and instrumentation. But what feels consistently important to me is keeping a sense of rawness and honesty in the work."

In addition to the new music, RY X will be hitting the road next month in support of the record.

The album includes such standouts as "Untold," "Bound," "YaYaYa" and "The Water." Hear it below.
