As Alt-J has been hitting the promo circuit this past week behind their new album, the trio stopped by BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge on Monday.

The guys offered a cover of Disclosure's Sam Smith collaboration "Latch" and—as much as we love the band and their new album—their rendition of this international hit misses the mark.

In the band's version, the melody is changed and vocalist Joe Newman is "latched" onto a sheet of paper with the song's lyrics. It's a bit uncomfortable to watch.
