The likes of Foo Fighters, Gary Clark Jr., Nate Ruess, Brand New, Leon Bridges, Meg Myers and others descended on Austin, Texas, on Friday for the first day of this year's Austin City Limits Music Festival.

It's the first of two weekends for the annual gathering of music and arts lovers in the Texas capital, where Drake, The Weeknd, The Strokes and many more are scheduled to performed over the course of the three-day event.

Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl might still be injured and performing from a massive throne, but that didn't keep fellow ACL act and Sonic Highways collaborator Clark from joining the band on stage during their headlining set.

Ruess also delivered a crowd-pleasing set, with solo material, as well as hits fun., an old Format favorite and covers of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy" and Elton John's "Rocket Man."
