Kanye West proved to be a multi-tasker on Saturday when he "auditioned" for the upcoming 15th and final season of Fox's American Idol.

The rapper stopped by the tapings for the long-running singing competition, which is currently recording a round of auditions in San Francisco, where Ye also performed at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser featuring President Obama.

Idol host Ryan Seacrest confirmed on Instagram that West's performance of "Gold Digger" (which unsurprisingly includes a reference to judge Jennifer Lopez's backside) earned him a golden ticket.

The final season of Idol doesn't premiere until January, so it will be some time before West's full stint can be seen. Some production footage can be seen below (via TeamKanyeDaily).
