Carrie Underwood on Thursday night performed an iHeartCountry album release party for her latest full-length Storyteller, which is out today.

The pop-country star discussed the record and its roots with radio host Bobby Bones before taking the stage at iHeartRadio Theater in New York.

"I feel like with previous albums, things were more scheduled and a little more predicable as far as how we were going to make the album," Underwood said before her performance. "And with this one, I definitely wanted to get out of my comfort zone. So I worked with different producers in different studios, and different musicians ... I think it ended up being really good to get myself out of my recording routine."
