Golden Features performing at the Rickshaw Stop in San Francisco, by Nick Gentry

As Australian producer Golden Features continues to tease a new album out next month, he played a show Saturday night in San Francisco delivering a preview of new music.

The moody show at Rickshaw Stop came just days after Golden Features dropped his new single "Flesh," which was released last week on ODESZA's Foreign Family Collective / Warner Music Australia. It's the latest off his sophomore record Sisyphus, which is out July 7.

Golden Features said of the song: “'Flesh' was one of the earlier demos from the album's writing process. It was a direct response to my time in Berlin and a song that encapsulated everything I fell in love with on my journeys. I wrote it trying to express feelings of being under the weight of an eight-hour session in the rave. Overstimulated, anxious and completely terrified of facing the real world outside. Finally gathering the courage to call it a night experiencing the surreal shift that is walking out of a windowless dungeon into a beautiful sunrise.”

Of the new album, he adds: “Sisyphus is a record born out of a need for change. After years of touring the same music, I found myself in a place where I was jaded and had lost the excitement that propelled me into creating music in the first place. I think this is natural when you exist in a space for any extended period of time.”
