Hailing from Asbury Park, New Jersey, Dana Why exhibits music that is not only innovative but heavy-hearted. His unique sound is a cross between similar bands such as Porches, Say Anything and The Get Up Kids. Why is set to show his music on his 15-track debut LP, The Lyre, which will be released in January.

“The Lyre is as much of a breakup album about a person as it is about a place," says Why. "I can trace its origins back to three life-altering events that all went down within roughly a year and a half from one another, from early 2015 to late 2016: a broken engagement, a move back home to New Jersey from Maine, and the start and end of the following relationship. I was unmotivated regarding anything except getting high and cranking out an obscene amount of demos….”

Aside from his musical aptitudes and range, Why is a visual artist, having directed and edited the music video for his latest single "Jersey Devil."
