5 Seconds of Summer in 'Complete Mess' video

5 Seconds of Summer is back with new music.

On Wednesday, the stadium pop-rockers shared their new song "Complete Mess," which they had been teasing since last week on social media. The big, sweeping track is accompanied by a video directed by Lauren Dunn (whose collaborations include work with Kali Uchis and Jack White).

The new song is a preview of the band's upcoming new album, which will be released soon via BMG, although a release date has yet to be announced.

"For this record, we realized if you want something done that truly represents how you feel, you’ve got to do it yourselves," says the band. "We wanted that expansive sound that we naturally gravitate towards when we play together, so we had to learn how to record that."

They add: "This new music is so authentically us. It’s exactly the kind of music we want to be making right now and it’s a good song to be able to reconnect to our fans after such a long time of not releasing music. We can’t wait for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on.”

This new music follows the release last year of frontman Luke Hemmings' own solo album When Facing The Things We Turn Away From, which was an incredible debut from the singer.
