As The Wombats charge toward the January release of their new album, they've shared a new song called "Ready for the High."

The electrifying new single arrived Thursday with a video featuring the reunited band together in the U.K. performing the song live in an intimate setting. It's a perfect reminder to look toward better times in the middle of a struggle, such as perhaps the universal experience of the last year and a half.

"'Ready for the High' is a '90s inspired track that I was excited to toss a load of trumpets into," says frontman Matthew "Murph" Murphy. "The song is about being engulfed in a bad place, but rather than accepting this as immutable, acknowledging that it is only temporary and that better times are closer than they (currently) appear.”

The Wombats' new album Fix Yourself, Not The World is out on Jan. 7 via AWAL. The band also recently announced a North American tour which will also begin in January.
