Maverick Sabre has shared a new song called "Not Easy Love," which features Demae. And it's our new obsession.
Out now via FAMM, the velvet smooth cut is Sabre's first since 2019 project When I Wake Up. It's also accompanied by a video directed by Louis Mackay.
“Not Easy Love' is about reflecting on myself, on how my own love isn't the easiest at times," says Maverick Sabre. "A lot of songs I've written about love over the years have been about being consumed by the emotion of the relationship itself, and maybe in that, I haven't given enough time to see how I can be difficult; nobody's perfect.”
Regarding the video, Sabre says: “The video represents the cycle of relationships, the deterioration of situations we stay in for all the wrong reasons. We built sets to have the relationship play out in to try and show that love is sold to us as a movie, a false reality that captures many of us to look for things that don't fulfill our hearts."
He adds: "Many of us are in relationships that society has designed to feel right rather than looking within ourselves to know what we really need, life and love on a movie set."
