What a fitting way to close out the summer: with new music from Glass Animals!

The band on Friday released their new single "I Don’t Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance)," and as the title suggests, they're bringing the party, along with a video featuring the group and numerous fans letting loose and dancing.

“Talking is great, don’t get me wrong. But this pandemic has made so many of us look inwards in a way we maybe haven’t before," says frontman Dave Bayley. "The uncertainty in the world and the inability to go out and create new memories makes you dig deep into the past. It really fed people’s deepest insecurities and rattled our foundations in so many ways."

He continues: "Relationships changed, friendships altered, and self-confidence was warped. I spent a lot of time talking to my dog, but even more time talking to myself in my head, which was keeping me up all night, and my friends and family were doing the same.

Bayley says the new track is meant to encourage fans to tune out the noise, close their eyes and have a release, if even for a moment.

The new song follows Glass Animals' 2020 album Dreamland, which was released last summer in the middle of the pandemic, arguably not the kind of release the band has originally planned. In our opinion, it was perfect for offering "comfort in the midst of confusion."

Of course, the track also comes as the band is nominated for two awards at this Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards and they're also on their North American Dreamland tour.
