joan is continuing their ambitious 2021 project with today's release of their new song "don't say you love me."

The standout cut is the second preview of a pair of EPs the duo plans to release later this year. The song is about being able to let go of a relationship when a partner is no longer fully in it. The duo has also confirmed the titles of their EPs, hi and bye, which will each tell a story about the beginning and ending of a relationship, respectively.

"This song was in demo land for about 6 months," the duo says of their new track. "We loved the chorus that we had a lot, but could not find a verse that felt right for the life of us. One day last month we met and wrote with Michelle Buzz and hit it off right away. She’s the first person we’ve ever let in as far as writing lyric and melody to a song—she’s an absolute rockstar, and was the perfect partner to make this song what it came to be."

The new music is part of joan's plans to release a new single on the first Thursday of the month until the end of the year.
