One more before the album drops! Just ahead of Friday's release of their new album As Long As You Are, Future Islands have shared a new song.

Their gripping new track "Born in a War" arrived Tuesday along with an animated video created by American artist Wayne White and his son Woodrow White. The visuals were inspired by frontman Samuel T. Herring's stirring lyrics addressing American society, consumption and the mighty capitalism.

“We first met with Wayne White back in 2014 to discuss collaborating on a music video," says the band. "We’ve been wanting to work with him since then. We’re stoked that we were finally able to work together on the video for 'Born in a War.' We love the puppets he created and his unique interpretation of the song.”

As Long As You Are has been described as looking to the past as well as the future, confronting old ghosts and embracing a new hope. It's a record about trust, honesty, redemption and “letting go," allowing old wounds to heal and bringing painful chapters to a close.
