Kings of Leon on Friday debuted a powerful new clip for "Beautiful War."

The song hails from the band's new Mechanical Bull album, while the video tells a dramatic story of a professional bull rider and an absolutely tragic moment that ultimately leads to prison.

The clip was directed by Casey McGrath and stars Garrett Hedlund (Friday Night Lights, Tron: Legacy).

The video comes a day after the band was confirmed to be performing Dec. 14 on Saturday Night Live.
