There is something so satisfying about newcomer Oliver Malcolm's new single "Kevin," which arrived today with an accompanying animated video.

Don't let the animation fool you, though. It's a perfect accompaniment for the gritty track, with a very Gorillaz vibe, slightly playful, somewhat eerie, yet all the while very alluring.

"I wanted the video for 'Kevin' to be a cartoon because I like the idea of using a medium that is generally geared towards kids to tell a dark and gritty story," says Malcolm. "The contrast helps emphasize the difference between the light and dark. Plus no one's filming music videos during quarantine."

The 20-year-old producer-vocalist has previously worked with the likes of IDK, AlunaGeorge, Joey Bada$$, Jay Rock, Tinashe and others. "Kevin" is the latest preview of his upcoming debut project, which is expected this fall.
