Luna Shadows, In.Drip. in 'Palm Springs' video

Emerging singer Luna Shadows has shared a new song called "Palm Springs," a collaboration with Variance favorite In.Drip. inspired by a classic yet grandiose image of the California city.

The song arrives with a video featuring both artists, presenting a series of visuals which are notably pre-pandemic but also serve as an almost eerie reminder of a not-so-distant past which seems extremely far away, as they hang out poolside drinking fancy cocktails surrounded by palm trees and sunshine. Much of that could technically still be done during California's existing shelter-in-place order, but it doesn't feel quite as tangible.

"'Palm Springs' is a musical postcard from a classic Californian getaway that is filled to the brim with bizarre juxtaposition," says Luna Shadows. "A place that is somehow both a mecca for millennials and a sanctuary for seniors, both an IG paradise for festival-goers and also a giant golf course adored by the retired, and a getaway potentially more famous for its drive than its destination."

Considering the song was partly inspired by live music and festivals (i.e. Coachella), Luna Shadows has set up a fundraiser selling limited edition "Palm Springs" tees, with all proceeds going to Live Nation's relief fund to aid touring and venue crews affected by the ongoing health crisis.
