Phoebe Bridgers has shared another new song, this one called "Kyoto." And she's confirmed the new song is from her upcoming sophomore album Punisher, which will be out June 19 via Dead Oceans.

The new song follows Bridgers' February release "Garden Song" as well as her appearance on The 1975's new song "Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America," which arrived last week.

“This song is about impostor syndrome. About being in Japan for the first time, somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, and playing my music to people who want to hear it, feeling like I’m living someone else’s life. I dissociate when bad things happen to me, but also when good things happen. It can feel like I’m performing what I think I’m supposed to be like. I wrote this one as a ballad first, but at that point I was so sick of recording slow songs, it turned into this.”

The singer says she initially intended to shoot a video for "Kyoto" last month in Japan, but because of the ongoing global health crisis, the plan was scrapped and she created the video using a green screen. The video was released today as well.

To celebrate the song's release, Bridgers will perform it tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live, from her bathroom in Los Angeles.
