Following her 2019 album Remind Me Tomorrow, Sharon Van Etten is back with new music already.

The singer on Wednesday shared a new song called "Beaten Down," a John Congleton-produced track which finds her voice fully showcased over dark yet hypnotic percussion. It's accompanied by a video directed by Nicky and Juliana Giraffe of Giraffe Studios.

"Our goal was to create a striking and psychedelic video set in the California desert, a welcoming of Sharon's next chapter here,” says Nicky and Juliana Giraffe. “Upon hearing the song, our minds automatically drifted into stark black and white, fever dreams, dark silhouettes contrasted against a barren desert landscape. Our intention was to give Sharon's song and performance space to breathe and echo."
