Whether it's mild temps and sunshine or gloomy and icy where you're at, emerging trio TWIN XL has a springy new single to brighten up your weekend.

The group, made up of singer Cameron Walker-Wright along with ex-The Summer members and brothers Stephen and John Gomez, dropped their shimmering new track "Friends" on Friday. And it's accompanied by a video directed by Weezer collaborator Jade Ehlers and co-starring a giant stuffed bear.

"We really wanted to find that happy balance between writing a catchy pop song that still had a lot of depth lyrically and also had a dark sonic undertone," the trio says of the new song. "The lyrics in the first verse talk about our desire for isolation and the internal conflict of an introvert. As the story progresses, we find sanctuary in the presence of strangers in strange rooms completely outside our comfort zone – here, we are free of judgement and we are free to be whoever we want."

"Friends" is a preview of TWIN XL's upcoming How To Talk To Strangers EP, out on March 1, and it comes ahead of their round of dates supporting Jukebox the Ghost & The Mowgli's on tour.
