Brooks Hudgins (simply known as Brooks) is gearing up to release an album, which he's announcing today along with his official debut singles. Yes, two songs.

Drive Thru Communion is coming in December. And to celebrate, the Los Angeles-based Texas native is sharing his debut double single "Only Fans/Gas Station Viagra," both with titles which are as intriguing and peculiar as the songs themselves.

"'Only Fans is the coming of age story of a 21st century girl and her struggles with the confluence of sex, drugs, and the internet," says Brooks. "Starting with recorded phone tape of a mother/daughter argument, the song picks up with the drums into a bedroom rock groover. Highlighted by loose guitars and flippant ad libs, this track is a fleeting tragicomedy on the cam girl hustle."

Regarding "Gas Station Viagra," he describes it as "charting the unseemly path of the fluorescent late night gas station junkie. It’s a bittersweet tale of desperation detailing Lola and Henry’s relationship. An uptempo and unusual concoction of electronic components seasoned with acoustic guitars and searing electric—'Gas Station Viagra' is really about running away but having nowhere to go."

For fans of the likes of Yellow Days and Dev Hynes, they may notice some influence on the aforementioned tracks, which may not come as a surprise, considering Brooks is close friends with them both.

The new songs are officially out on Friday (Oct. 9), but they're premiering now on Variance.
