Winnetka Bowling League

Winnetka Bowling League has quietly been making some of the most relatable, well-crafted pop music, something which is only further on display with the group's newly released pulp EP.

As we previously mentioned, the song "pulp" itself was released in September, but now comes a five-track EP of the same name, which also includes their incredible standout "barcelona," featuring Sasha Alex Sloan, as well as a new song called "fiimy (fuck it, i miss you)," featuring Demi Lovato.

The Lovato-assisted track is a delicate letter to an ex, but there's something about the tender vocals and confessional lyrics which make it cut a little deeper, especially in light of two years of social-distancing, self-isolation and a mix of Covid-era emotions.

“'fiimy' is about running into an ex for the first time since a break up and the rush of mixed feelings that ad target you," says WBL's Matthew Koma. "There's wondering if you even know that person anymore and there's reckoning with your own 'did i fuck up a good thing.' When Demi heard the lyrics, I think they reminded them of their own version of that experience...so it was really cool to hear them come with a verse framing how that story was told in their world. It takes dismissing a lot of pride to admit to yourself you miss someone.”

Adds Lovato: "If these times taught us anything it’s the power of human connection and missing someone, and I think this song speaks to that in a very honest and relevant way.”
