Sibling duo Eighty Ninety is back with new music, and they've somehow turned a breakup into a bright and shiny pop jam.

The brothers, Abner (vocals, production) and Harper (guitar, production) James, on Friday released their new single "Better as Friends," which is instantly addictive even if it's inspired by heartbreak, reflective of a moment when someone you're hopelessly in love with doesn't feel the same way.

“It's about the desire to live in the past rather than face the end, and how loving someone can mean wanting the best for them even if that no longer includes you,” says the duo of the track, which features production from Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande collaborator Gian Stone.

"Better as Friends" follows Eighty Ninety's other recent single "Happier," both of which are previews of the pair's upcoming sophomore EP.
