Dan Croll is releasing a new album this summer and he's just shared two new songs from the record, titled Grand Plan, out Aug. 21 via Communion Records.

First is the title track "Grand Plan" and another "Work." They're both undeniably beautiful, reflective of changes in the singer's life over the past two years. But lyrically, it's impossible to notice they sound like from a lifetime ago.

On "Grand Plan," Croll is looking outward at everyone who seems happy, making money, living their lives and sticking to their "grand plan" while he seems to be "coming back from way behind." On "Work," he is asking a lover if they really need to go in to work today, as he tries to persuade them to just stay with him and lay in bed all day. They're both very relatable but given society's current standstill, it's hard to notice how simultaneously familiar yet foreign they become.

"The past two years have been a rollercoaster, starting from scratch, alone in a different country," he says of the new songs. "But I'm so happy to have come out the other end with this collection of songs. Feels great not only to be back on the music scene, but to be doing it with songs that I finally feel represent the influences and music I truly love."
