Just in time for the weekend, Los Angeles alt-pop duo Moby Rich is here with new music.

Their explosive new single "Loser" is officially out Friday but it's premiering today on Variance. The song will be featured on the soundtrack for the upcoming Jay and Silent Bob Reboot.

"We wrote ‘Loser’ because we wanted to have our own anthem to let people know it’s okay to be a weirdo and to not be understood by everyone," says Moby Rich of the new song. "It was one of those songs that wrote itself because of how much we believe in what it stands for. It’s so easy to get caught up in what everybody thinks is cool and forget that all the things that make us unique are the parts people remember about us."

They add: "No one is remembered for just blending in. Be unapologetically you, forget what’s ‘cool.’ Thinking you’re a loser can be a lonely feeling, but the funny thing is, we all feel like losers at some point. So why don’t we celebrate another thing that brings us all a little closer?”

Moby Rich is comprised of best friends Maxwell Joseph and Connor Pledger, who met at an open mic night in L.A. The new song follows their recent Songs We Didn't Write project, which featured their takes on Weezer's "Say It Ain't So" and Lizzo's "Truth Hurts."

In addition to the new music, Moby Rich will be hitting the road later this month supporting Matt Maeson. The trek follows their own recent headlining shows as well as a stint opening for BROODS.
