Canadian singer-songwriter Shay Esposito is kicking off the new month with new music.

The Edmonton-based artist is releasing her emotional new single "Feel Something," which is premiering today on Variance and showcases Esposito's Halsey-esque vocals  on a track acknowledging the need to feel affection when things feel out of control.

"'Feel Something' was inspired by the toxic, pathological need to control and manipulate those around you, born out of a desperate need to feel 'something' resembling love or affection when you yourself are feeling out of control or lost," says Esposito of the new track. "This song was written to tell people that this feeling, this desire for attention when you’re feeling alone, is natural. However, the aggressive tone this song captures is meant to portray that, while this is true, giving in to this way of thinking will only push those around you further away."
