While Justin Timberlake has previously said he won't have any guests during his halftime show at the Super Bowl this Sunday, it seems that may not be completely true.

According to TMZ, Timberlake will be joined by a hologram of Prince, with the goal of honoring the late music icon in his hometown of Minneapolis, where the game (and halftime show) is being held.

Some fans had been hoping for a *NSYNC reunion or that Timberlake might bring out Janet Jackson to make up for their controversial 2004 Super Bowl performance in which the "SexyBack" singer ripped off a portion of Jackson's wardrobe, exposing her breast. She took a big hit after the incident, but JT walked away relatively unscathed.

Although Timberlake hasn't shared many details about the show, he did say at the NFL's annual Super Bowl press conference on Thursday, "Odds are good that I may have a little 'Can't Stop the Feeling' in the show. That's all I'm giving away!"

It's worth noting, Timberlake has a hit song called "Can't Stop the Feeling," but Prince also has a song similarly titled "Can't Stop This Feeling I Got." Timberlake also held a listening party for his new record Man of the Woods at Prince’s iconic Paisley Park compound. Maybe those were hints?

In a 1998 Guitar World interview, Prince expressed disapproval of holograms, specifically if he would perform with one. "Certainly not," he said. "That’s the most demonic thing imaginable. Everything is as it is, and it should be. If I was meant to jam with Duke Ellington, we would have lived in the same age."

Super Bowl LII kicks off Sunday at 6:30 p.m. EST, airing live on NBC from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Update: According to Sheila E., Prince's longtime drummer and friend, a hologram will not be part of Sunday's halftime show.

"Family, I spoke w/Justin 2nite and he shared heartfelt words of respect for Prince & the Purple fans,” she tweeted Saturday night. “I look 4wrd 2 seeing what I’m sure is going 2 be a spectacular halftime show. There is no hologram."
