Maggie Rogers performing in Milwaukee, photo by Josh Darr

We’re only halfway through the year and Maggie Rogers has had a pretty great as she is just kicking off her Don’t Forget Me tour in support of her third album of same title released in April. She introduced her new album to the world with a string of box office shows on release week in select cities through the U.S. If you haven’t had the opportunity to catch Rogers’ performance live, I highly suggest you make plans to if she hasn’t rolled through your town yet but would say she is most definitely worth the destination.

She has a genuine humility that is beyond palpable from the moment she arrives onstage. She also has a presence on social media where she actively makes the effort to connect with her fans. She has a way to impose a melange of emotive energy onto the crowd as she takes on this musical journey of growth and heartache. Masterfully transition sad songs into happy moments.

She did a nice job covering her catalog of albums throughout the set, holding out for the big finish in her encore with the album title track “Don’t Forget Me” followed by a cover of her favorite Damien Rice track, “Cannonball.” I’m currently soaring on my own little “cloud nine” now having the pleasure of capturing Maggie Rogers twice this year in as many months. Here’s hoping I can score one more X for the win before the year’s out and catch her on tour more time (fingers crossed) LOL.
