Arkansas duo Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford (aka joan) has continued their two-part EP rollout with the release of their new single "something special."

The blissful, sun-soaked bop is most definitely from the hi EP, which will be released alongside the accompanying bye EP, which will showcase a relationship in full bloom and then its ultimate demise—thus, hi and bye. The pair is releasing a new song from one of the EPs every first Thursday of the month until the full release later this year.

"This song makes you feel so nice, and if you disagree, we can’t be friends," says joan. "Sorry, but it’s true. This song started as a Doobie Brothers tribute song, just having some fun one day. We were just messing around with keyboard sounds and came across the chords to what are now the chorus chords. We looked at each other and said, 'Wow this feels special, ohhh special. let’s write around that word.'"
