After sending the internet into a tailspin earlier this week, Lorde has officially made her return with new music.
The singer on Thursday shared her radiant new single "Solar Power," which an equally (and appropriately) sun-soaked video, which she co-directed alongside Joel Kefali. Of course, it's set on a beach, in the midst of some kind of boho paradise.
Co-written and co-produced with past collaborator Jack Antonoff (with Phoebe Bridgers and Clairo lending backing vocals), the new song is also the title track off Lorde's next album, which is presumably coming soon. A release date hasn't been confirmed, as of this writing.
According to Lorde, additional music is on the way in the coming weeks, along with more videos filmed at the same location as this first clip, yet another reminder of how New Zealand has been swimming in a post-Covid wonderland.
