Omar Apollo keeps the streak going with his new song "Stayback," an irresistible new jam which follows his previous standout "Imagine U," which was only released back in April.
The new song arrives with a trippy accompanying video directed by Aidan Cullen, which finds Apollo falling into a pool and going down quite a journey. It's still unclear if this new music is nodding to an upcoming project, but it seems he's keeping pretty busy during these crazy times.
"'Stayback' is a song about being in love for a long period of time," says Apollo. "After years of being hurt emotionally, I moved on and decided to treat the relationship as a memory instead of fantasizing it and trying to make it work. When I finished the production, I realized this was the song that I've been wanting to make my entire career. My guitar player Oscar killed the solo on it and really brought the whole thing together."
Unlike some of his previous releases, such as "Frío," "Hit Me Up" and again on "Imagine U," which were collaborations with Kenny Beats, it appears this new one was written and produced by Omar Apollo himself.
