"My dad came to visit me at one of our ranches in Cody, Wyoming," Kanye West says in the video for his song "Follow God," released Friday afternoon. "It took me 42 years to realize that my dad was my best friend."
The newly released clip features West alongside his father Ray West, with whom the rapper has had a touch and go relationship over the years. It sees the two on Ye's Wyoming ranch, hanging out in the snow.
While brief, it's a heartwarming clip. And despite Kanye's recent controversial evolution into a Trump-supporting Christian adored by fellow Trump-supporting Christians (for now), the video is a signal he is clearly making some positive changes, even as he continues his personal journey.
"Follow God" is one of the tracks which appears on West's ninth studio album Jesus Is King, which was released two weeks ago today and this week topped the U.S. album charts.
