Can't keep Cage the Elephant away for too long!

The band is back with new music Thursday, dropping their new single "Ready to Let Go" after having teased its release earlier in the week. Along with the new music, Cage has confirmed their fifth studio album, titled Social Cues, is coming on April 19 via RCA Records.

"Ready" arrived today with an eerie video directed by none other than frontman Matt Shultz, who cautions fans not to be deceived by the whimsical sound of the new track, noting much of the new music was at least partly inspired by his breakup, allowing him to create characters to tell parts of his personal story.

"It can be a vehicle to act out things that are hard to confront," he says, adding: "When I'm creating, I try to put myself in a reactive state of improvisational thought. I let images just arise in my mind and wait for it to evoke an emotional response and then when it does, I know I'm on to something. I was watching a lot of Fassbinder films, like World on a Wire and The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant."
