Will Arnett Unexpectedly Available for 'Arrested Development' Thanks to CBS

CBS has somewhat suddenly axed sophomore comedy The Millers, giving Will Arnett an unexpected opening in his schedule—should Mitch Hurwitz want to get a head start on season five of Arrested Development.

Led by a cast of Arnett, Margo Martindale and Jayma Mays, Millers premiered last fall to more than 13 million viewers. It was only four episodes into its second season, with the most recent installment attracting 6.5 million viewers this past Monday.

NBC and Fox would gladly welcome numbers like that these days, but anything south of 10 million is essentially the gutter for CBS.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, production on the show has shut down immediately as of late Friday. At press time, this coming Monday's (Nov. 17) episode is still on the schedule.
