John Stamos Confirms 'Full House' Revival Series Official at Netflix

(Story updated)

John Stamos confirmed Monday night on Jimmy Kimmel Live that a 13-episode revival/spinoff of Full House is indeed coming to Netflix in 2016.

The streaming service has subsequently revealed the "sequel" series, titled Fuller House, will be centered around Candace Cameron Bure's recently widowed D.J., now a veterinarian and the mother of two sons with another on the way. Not coincidentally, aspiring musician and younger sister Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) and single mom Kimmy (Andrea Barber) move into the old Tanner house to help D.J. with her growing brood.

Stamos, who will produce the show and reprise his role of Uncle Jesse, told Kimmel the goal is for most of the original players to be part of at least the first episode, which is expected to be an hour-long Tanner family reunion.

According to a press release from Netflix, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin and even Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen are all in talks to take part in some capacity.

Rumors of a spinoff first began last summer and intensified earlier this month with news that Netflix had been in discussions to revive the '90s favorite.

Next month marks 20 years since the final episode of Full House aired on ABC.
