It turns out Nicki Minaj and Future won't be touring North America together after all.
The trek, which had been scheduled to start next month in Baltimore, has been scrapped. According to a statement from Live Nation, Minaj has "decided to reevaluate elements of production" for the show, meaning she and Future will instead perform the European leg of the tour next February, with Minaj returning stateside in May, however without Future, because of schedule conflicts.
The news comes as Minaj has had an interesting few days, starting Sunday with word Travis Scott's Astroworld would remain No. 1 on the U.S. album charts, forcing Minaj's Queen to debut at No. 2. She immediately took to Twitter, blaming Scott, Spotify, her label and a number of others for her album's performance.
In a video posted late Tuesday night on Twitter, Minaj blamed her tour delay on her album delay, claiming moving the release date from June to August impacted rehearsal time. But Page Six cited an unnamed Live Nation source as saying ticket sales had been poor, suggesting as few as 2,000 tickets had been sold for the opening night.
A Twitter user has also pointed to Ticketmaster's ticket availability for the now-canceled Memphis date, which seems to show nearly an arena's worth of seats still unsold.
