XXXTentacion's single "Sad!" has become the late singer-rapper's first chart-topper.
Following his death on June 18, the song has climbed from No. 52 to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, having previously peaked earlier this year at No. 7. He had yet to claim a spot at the top of the U.S. charts.
As Billboard notes, XXXTentacion is the first artist to top the Hot 100 posthumously since The Notorious B.I.G. did so with "Mo Money Mo Problems" in 1997.
Elsewhere on the charts, XXXTentacion's albums have also seen big jumps, with his recent sophomore project ? climbing nearly 400% to No. 3, behind Beyoncé & Jay-Z's Everything Is Love. His debut 17 has also risen to No. 7.
rises back to No. 3 on the ranking, while his debut full-length 17 also returns to the region, settling at No. 7.
