Only days after confirming the March 3 release date for her debut album, Dirty Gold, Angel Haze took to Twitter on Wednesday morning and vented about the process leading up to it.
She specifically blasted her label for, in her opinion, not keeping their word, explaining that Republic/Island previously promised her that if she could finish the record by the summer, it would release this year.
Clearly frustrated, the singer/rapper posted a series of emotional tweets, topped by one final blurb, which included a link to her album. "Since they don't want to put it out this year, I will. Here's the album. HERE IS DIRTY GOLD. I hope you all enjoy it," she said.
Update: As one would expect, the album was swiftly removed from Soundcloud.
Update (7:15 p.m. EST): According to SPIN, Haze's album may be released by Republic/Island (in its official form) earlier than March 3, following Wednesday's incident. Haze subsequently retweeted the report, indicating she might at least believe it's a possibility.
Update (8:45 p.m. EST): Haze tweeted late Wednesday evening that Dirty Gold will now officially arrive in the U.S. and U.K. on Dec. 30, with other countries to follow.
