With the first votes in this year's presidential contest set for Monday in Iowa, Bernie Sanders has a number of musicians stumping for the Vermont senator in what is expected to be a tight race against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Vampire Weekend (sans Rostam Batmanglij), Killer Mike and Foster the People will take part in a rally in Iowa City this Saturday, as will actor Josh Hutcherson.
A week later on Feb. 5, Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform a fundraising concert billed as "Feel the Bern" at Los Angeles’ Theatre at the Ace Hotel, coming just days after Monday's Iowa caucuses, which in 2008 put Barack Obama on track to eventually nab the Democratic nomination and then become President.
Tickets for the Los Angeles event range from $30 and $2,700, while entry for Saturday's event in Iowa is free but limited to capacity.
