Snoop Dogg's trip to Kendall Calling festival in the U.K. this weekend was interrupted at an Italian airport, where the rapper was stopped by police on Saturday for carrying over $420,000 in cash.
According to local news reports, Snoop had been in Italy for a pair of performances. And during a routine check at Lamezia Terme, Italian Finance Police noticed two bags with with $422,820 in U.S. cash.
As a means of preventing money laundering, anyone traveling within European Union are required to declare possession of more than €10,000 ($11,010.25).
Police seized $205,933 of Snoop's money and have opened an investigation, CNN reports. The rapper, who was traveling by private jet, told authorities he had the money on hand to pay his band members.
Snoop is said to be cooperating with the investigation, but he left for London in order to make his headlining festival appearance in London.
A rep for Snoop Dogg didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.
