David Bowie's final album Blackstar has become his first No. 1 in the United States.

According to Nielsen Music data released Sunday, the new record shifted 181,000 equivalent album units (174,000 pure, non-streaming album sales).

That marks the music legend's highest sales week to date and is more than enough to unseat Adele's juggernaut 25, which had been comfortably atop the Billboard 200 for the past seven weeks.

Bowie died from cancer on Jan. 10, two days after the release of Blackstar, which arrived on the singer's 69th birthday.
