Nashville singer Troy Akers (aka Bandit Heart) has released an honest, delicate new track "Diamond."

According to the emerging artist, the song was born out of pain, during a time when songwriting allowed him an outlet dealing with heartbreak. "For the first time, in a long time, I was letting go of someone who I thought would return," he explains. "Someone who still was very much alive inside my head because of these songs."

He goes on to acknowledge he's "saying goodbye to a lot of things with this song," he says, noting he plans to focus in the future on new material from beyond the aforementioned heartache. 

"Diamond" is officially out this Friday (Sept. 2), but it can be heard below now.
