Back in 2019, Leon Else was singing about an unhealthy sex addition on his song "Easy Love." On Tuesday, the singer returned with an even darker, new entry, his single "Bad."

On the chilling new track, the U.K. artist, who is now based in Los Angeles, is opening up about his very personal mental health journey, with very tense lyricism, reflective of an admittedly dark period in his life, as he sings about enjoying "being fucked up more than being sober." He later adds: "I don't even care if I live or die / I just want to get high."

"When I wrote 'Bad,' I didn’t give a fuck," admits Else. "I thought it was funny, to say things I literally was thinking, without thinking, 'Oh, is that too much?' It’s the truth. And the truth can be ugly. I was doing copious amounts of drugs, partying, fucking around doing many bad things. I was angry—angry at the world. I wanted to tell the world to go suck my dick, and it did.”

After struggling alone with his mental health for nearly three decades of his life, the singer sought help and is also starting a new chapter as an individual and an artist, reclaiming his independence and creating music reflective of this journey. The release of "Bad" comes after nearly four years away.
