Austin Harms is going in deep with his new song "cedar lane."

The raw, confessional new track arrived Friday, and it's the third chapter of his upcoming five-song EP. As with his previous recent offerings, he is leaning into his hip-hop inclinations, while delivering earnest lyricism.

“I was in a really bad mental state and after a lot of thought, I decided to take a solo trip up to the mountains for the first time," recalls Harms. "I stayed a couple nights in a cabin alone with my phone turned off. It was eye-opening really—refreshing and terrifying at the same time. I don’t think I had ever been truly alone in that way."

He continues: "I had felt alone for as long as I could remember, and was feeling alone at the time, but had never truly been physically alone for that long, with just my thoughts. It’s hard to sum that trip up in a few sentences because it did a lot for me. But it was eye-opening in the sense that I began to understand just how little I loved myself, and how much pain I had been running from.”
