There's no shortage of new music this week, but up-and-coming Canadian outfit Dizzy's new album The Sun and Her Scorch is this week's Must-Hear project.

The new full-length, out today via Royal Mountain Records, includes the band's previous standout "The Magician," which arrived in April. And like the aforementioned track, the full record is necessary listening in the middle of these strange, complicated times.

Recorded at Mechanicland Studios in Quebec as well as frontwoman Katie Munshaw's mother's basement, the new album was produced by Dizzy and mixed by Craig Silvey, whose previous work includes Arcade Fire and Florence + the Machine projects.

“[Our first record] Baby Teeth was all about the confusion and sadness of my late teens," says Munshaw. "But this one is more about the qualities about myself that I’m not very proud of. I wanted to be completely honest about the things nobody ever wants to admit, like being jealous of your friends or pushing away the people who love you. So instead of being about romantic heartbreak, it’s really about self-heartbreak."
